2020 Laytone Virtual Choir "Happy Christmas Party"

Everyone,
Thank you so much for helping to brighten my holidays this year! I hope all of you enjoyed this little project as much as I did.
It has been so fun to relive so many good memories of being a Laytone and singing this song. A Special thanks to everyone who participated. Even if you did not submit a video this time, I hope we re-kindled some fond memories for you as well.
To be 100% honest, I had no idea what to expect or if this was even going to work. Great Job EVERYONE!
Mr. Everton, thank you for your help with this. Thank you for making it possible for us (if I dare speak for everyone) to have all those great Laytone Memories. I Hope we did it justice!

- The performance tracks start with a lot of time at the beging to give you time to get your recording device capturing.
- 10 seconds in, there is a cue for you to clap on beat. This is so we can sync up everyone's audio and video when we put this whole thing together.
- The intro to the song starts 4 counts after the clap.
- The intro is 4 bars and then you sing. (There is a cue)
- This track you're singing to will not be the accompaniment in the final video.
Recording Your Video
- Recording your video does NOT need to be overly complicated. Most of todays phones record audio and video very well if you are relatively close to the device.
- One option to record your video is to use an app like Mideo to play the performance tracks while you record. I tried this app and it worked quite well. I did have to pay $3 for it from that app store. In this app's settings, make sure you set the camera you want to use (front or back) as default before you start playing your music. I've noticed that switching this setting can stop your music from playing.
- If you do not have an app that lets you record video while playing music at the same time, you will need a seperate mp3 player. Use headphones and play the performance track while you record the song. Be careful not to have the performance tracks too loud in your ears. You need to hear yourself if you are to sing on key.
- Use Headphones & choose a quiet enviornment. In order for this to work, we need a recording of your voice with as little background noise as possible.
Don't forget to clap on the Sync-Beat. - Be creative with your video. Although the choir will include everyone's voices, the number of videos we are able to show will be based on the amount of participation we get. We will favor the more fun and creative performances.
